Cable Hiker Boots
While I was in #LasVegas for #SHOTShow , I met the people from 5.11. I was checking out their #footwear and noticed that most of it were very #tactical looking. I wasn't in the market for a new pair of tactical boots, but I did see a good looking set of 5.11 hiking boots. They were not overtly tactical, but the boots did seem to be very functional.
I talked to the representatives from 5.11, and they offered to get me a pair to try out for a review. I thought, “Why not. I was already in the market for a new pair of boots.” By the time I got home from my trip to Vegas, I had a set of Cable Hiker Boots waiting on my doorstep. I could not wait to try them out, so I opened the box and put them on. It felt like I was walking on a cloud.
The Cable Hiker boots come in two different color designs. The first is the “storm” color. It is a gray color with red and black accents. These look pretty stylish, but I am not sure this color combination would be for me. I am not a very flashy person.
The 5.11 Cable Hiker Boots I received were in dark coyote color scheme with red laces. The boots did come with a set of earth-toned laces, but I decided to stick with the red laces because I liked the way they completed look of the boots, but I also loved the overall look with the other set of laces. The mixture of the black and dark coyote color materials complimented each other well. The red laces were the perfect accent to pull the look together. 5.11 makes the Cable Hiker boots out of mostly suede. They also used 1280 nylon for the boots which is a super durable material. Another cool thing I liked is that the heel cup of the Cable Hiker boots is Kevlar-reinforced for added strength.
