"Large Pepper Popper" is a 3/8 in. thick AR500 steel two-thirds scale IPSC legal version of the humanoid steel target invented by John Pepper of Maryland, and now in wide use throughout the world. Gunsite family member, John Pepper of Maryland, designed and developed the Pepper Popper target during the early years of practical pistol shooting. He also worked for many years to promote practical rifle shooting on the East Coast. Of John Pepper, Col. Jeff Cooper wrote several years ago: "He had a very satisfactory war in Korea and learned much about the use of the rifle under combat conditions, and he introduced his experiences into practical competition."
